Object notes

Material, surface and intention.

Not every object needs to announce its presence.

No. 7 was created around a different idea: that refinement often speaks more softly than ornament. Its slender silhouette and uninterrupted lines allow the natural character of European Walnut to become the centre of attention, rather than the craftsmanship itself.

The wood was selected for its gentle figure and subtle variation in tone. Fine grain flows continuously along the body, creating a calm visual rhythm that rewards closer observation rather than immediate impact.

Warm gold-plated details complement the timber without overwhelming it, introducing a quiet dialogue between natural material and polished metal. The result feels balanced, intimate and remarkably light in appearance.

Protected with Renaissance Wax instead of a heavy synthetic finish, the surface preserves the tactile warmth that only real wood can offer. Every piece continues to mature over time, developing its own quiet patina through use.

Entirely handcrafted in the LIGNORAE atelier in Munich, No. 7 is part of The First One Hundred — a permanent archive of individually registered writing instruments where every object tells its own story, not through excess, but through restraint.
