Every atelier has a piece that quietly changes everything.
Prototype No. 001 was created as an experiment. The objective was not to build a perfect fountain pen, but to answer a simple question:
Can an original pen be designed around the functional components of a commercial kit instead of around the kit itself?
The answer became this object.
Both the body and the cap were individually designed and hand-turned from solid ebony, following proportions developed specifically for this prototype. Only the functional writing components originate from a commercial fountain pen kit, allowing the focus to shift from the hardware to the sculptural form of the wood.
Rather than representing a finished destination, this fountain pen documents the beginning of a new direction. It is the first tangible step toward fully original, kitless writing instruments.
Small imperfections remain intentionally untouched. They tell the story of exploration, experimentation and learning, making this piece impossible to reproduce exactly.
Prototype No. 001 is offered as a unique collector’s object and as a documented milestone in the evolution of the atelier.
