This LIGNORAE fountain pen is shaped from a carefully selected piece of Kingwood, also known as Brazilian Kingwood and botanically identified as Dalbergia cearensis. Native to the seasonally dry regions of northeastern Brazil, this distinctive wood is appreciated for its dense structure, warm brown colouring and strongly contrasting linear grain.
The pen’s cap and barrel reveal a varied pattern of golden, honey and darker brown tones, with the grain flowing along the length of the instrument and becoming especially expressive around the rounded ends. Every movement of the wood is natural, making this pen completely individual and impossible to reproduce exactly.
Hand-turned and carefully refined, the pen combines a smooth, rounded silhouette with polished silver-tone hardware and a goldenBock No. 6 M fountain-pen nib. The restrained metalwork allows the wood to remain the visual focus, while the balanced cigar-inspired form gives the pen a comfortable and composed presence in the hand.
