Material, surface and intention.
EL CAPITAN is built around presence. Carved from African ebony, its elongated silhouette is deliberately severe and architectural, using the extraordinary density and almost absolute blackness of the wood to create a form that feels controlled, substantial and quietly imposing.
The geometry remains restrained, allowing proportion and material to carry the design. A brushed metal section introduces a precise, technical contrast, while the platinum-plated Bock No. 6 nib becomes the defining accent, bright without being ostentatious, catching the light against the darkness of the ebony with a cold, restrained brilliance.
Each wooden element is individually turned, shaped and refined by hand, then finished to preserve the tactile character of the ebony rather than burying it beneath excessive gloss. A Schmidt K5 converter provides a proven filling system, combining the individuality of a handcrafted body with dependable fountain-pen mechanics.
EL CAPITAN was conceived less as an accessory than as an instrument of presence. Monolithic, formal and deliberately uncompromising, it is a fountain pen made for moments that carry weight, and for signatures that are meant to remain.
